Two Mothers Taken
Five small children as well as many families members and friends are left behind.
PursuitSAFETY supports chases for violent crimes, when there is no other way to apprehend the fleeing suspect. The purpose of the pursuit is to prevent future injuries and deaths not apprehension for the crime committed.

A Difficult Mother’s Day Lucas Aragon. the brother of Kim Aragon-Nunez, responds to a reporter's questions about his sister and the chase that killed Kim and her friend and co-worker Janice Flores. In addition to this ABC news broadcast, Lucas has shared his knowledge about police chases with other media groups. Lucas, a PursuitSAFETY member, is getting the word out about police chases and public safety. He assists the cause as an administrator on our FB group. His friend, Jane Metcalf, provided us with printed copies of our Six Weeks' Time handout to promote PursuitSAFETY's mission: To SAVE Lives. |

Bank robberies are serious crimes. But, are chases the best and safest way to catch the robber? A few verbal comments and an email reveals that bank robbers almost always get caught by using other methods and resources. Here's the email comment: "Acts of violence occurred in 4% of bank robberies in 2009 and resulted in 140 injuries, 21 deaths, and 94 persons being taken hostage. Of the 21 reported deaths, all were perpetrators. The average loss was less than $8,000. Depending on who you listen to 60-75% eventually get caught, not a bad clearance rate. I believe a pursuit is usually unnecessary unless someone was seriously injured or killed. The purpose of the pursuit would be to prevent future injuries and deaths not apprehension for the crime committed."
